Just in case you're wondering, I'm not actually obsessed with this poor Cal student. It's more like a strange fascination with...that which is oddly fascinating. Part of me is hilariously amused, cracking up at the comic spectacle. The other part of me, however, is truly saddened, feeling empathy and guilt over the intense ridicule.
It's like when you're in grade school, and everyone is secretly snickering at that one unfortunate, unpopular child. You can't help but get drawn in, but the inherent cruel overtones make you feel guilty at the same time. Even if he's totally oblivious, grinning and laughing along with the jokes that are actually being made at his expense, does that make it OK?
Maybe I'm thinking too hard about it. After all, at the end of the day, I must admit that I do find it funny, and I did repost the video link for others to watch. I definitely feel the burn of guilt, though. Ouch...
